Falmouth
Falmouth is a perfect base for your Cornish holiday.
The town sits at the
mouth of the River Fal with its deep harbour and magnificent views over
the large bay and coastal scenery. You may like to view them from Pendennis
Castle built on
the promontory by Henry VIII or its sister castle, St. Maws across the mouth
of the harbour. These castles were built to protect the Carrick Roads, one of
the largest natural harbours in
the world.
The town is steeped
in history and besides site-seeing there is lots to do including sailing or
just taking a pleasure boat across the Bay or up the River Fal. From Castle
Drive you can
view the large ocean going vessels brought into the Ship Repair Yard.
Visit the town's public
gardens or take a short trip out of town to visit the large Gardens with
their exotic plants. Swim from
the beaches or walk the coastal or many inland footpaths.
Falmouth is only a short drive from the World famous Eden Project, well worth a visit

You will not need to
look far to find somewhere to eat, Falmouth is well supplied with a variety
of attractive restaurants and pubs.
If you wish to take to the road then you can easily drive to Land's End and many of the other interesting parts of Cornwall within about an hour.
This is just a "taster" - Falmouth has much more to offer.
